about white oaks farms

Nestled on 115 acres in historic Stillwater, Minnesota, White Oaks Farms is a working model for the future of agriculture - rooted in history, thriving in the present, and growing toward a sustainable tomorrow. The farm features an original dairy barn, farm school, and practices grounded in biointensive, regenerative, and organic methods that cultivate produce, soil, and community alike.

Bordering White Oaks Savanna, a 200-acre restored prairie community, White Oaks Farms forms part of a 300+ acre agrihood where conservation and cultivation coexist. Reserved for agriculture and rural preservation within the city of Grant, the farm offers both serenity and accessibility—just minutes from Stillwater and St. Paul, yet a world away from the everyday.

the legacy

White Oaks Farms is the shared vision of David Washburn and Meg Anderson, and Zach and Emma Robinson - two families united by a deep commitment to the land and to cultivating the next generation of growers.

David Washburn and Meg Anderson bring more than three decades of farming, land restoration, and entrepreneurial experience. Their journey includes award-winning organic vegetable farming, a 200-acre prairie restoration project, and the design and development of an agrihood centered on sustainability and community. Their careers span fitness, farming, and housing—reflecting a lifelong dedication to lasting impact.

Zach and Emma Robinson extend that legacy with a focus on youth empowerment and sustainable education. As founding board members of Spark-Y, an award-winning Twin Cities nonprofit, they have helped over 20,000 youth gain hands-on experience in sustainability and entrepreneurship. Zach’s leadership as Executive Director has earned recognition for community impact, while Emma brings over 15 years of expertise in marketing, operations, and development. Together, the Robinsons carry forward a 6-generation family tradition of farming and stewardship.

Together, these two families are cultivating more than a farm—they are creating a living legacy of education, restoration, and opportunity that will serve generations to come

OUR FUTURE

The future of White Oaks Farms is centered on growth - in people, in purpose, and in the land itself.

Beginning with the launch of our agricultural training programs in 2026, White Oaks Farms will serve as both a working farm and a hands-on learning environment through the White Oaks School Farm. Backed by the Market Gardener Institute’s Masterclass, our programs will provide immersive training in small-scale, regenerative farming - combining fieldwork, education, and entrepreneurship.

Looking ahead, White Oaks Farms envisions a thriving ecosystem where graduates can deepen their skills, lead new cohorts, and even cultivate their own enterprises on-site. Over time, our growing operations may expand to include community-supported agriculture (CSA), a farm store, and direct partnerships with local chefs and restaurants.

Beyond production, White Oaks Farms will continue to evolve as a community destination for agricultural education and connection - offering opportunities to gather, learn, and celebrate the bounty of the land through seasonal events, workshops, and farm experiences.

At its heart, White Oaks Farms is about more than farming --
it’s about growing people, community, and a regenerative future.
